Are you looking for a super simple, yet super fun activity for spring? This can be used as a center for a class party or at home with your own little ones. I created this to use during my little one’s Kindergarten class party. But before the party I tested it with my toddler twins and 6 year old and they all loved it! Since it was such a hit, I wanted to share it with all of you as a FREEBIE!
What You’ll Need
You only need a few supplies for this activity.
- paint
- cotton balls
- clothespins
Then simply print your free download, and attach your peeps to the clothespins and clip a cotton ball into the bottom as the “bunny tails.” I hot glued the peep printables to the clothespins since I was using them with a whole class of kindergarteners. They held up really well.
The Activity
Before letting them paint, I had them cut out their eggs. Then they picked a peep and dipped the tail into the paint. Then they had their bunny “hop” all over their egg to paint with the cotton tail.
Once they were ready to switch colors, they simply pinched the clip over a bowl and released the paint covered cotton ball and clipped in a fresh bunny tail (cotton ball) for the next color. This made it so easy for them to switch colors without mixing the paints. This made it easy for the whole group to share all of the paint colors. (Added bonus, they are working on their fine motor skills)
Clean up was also a breeze, because I simply dumped the paint covered cotton balls into the garbage after the activity.
I loved watching the different patterns and designs all of the sweet kids created with their hopping bunnies.
