As an Early Childhood Educator and mother of three little ones, I am always eager to learn more ways to help teach young children. But finding the extra time to go to conferences isn’t always easy. Let’s be honest… mom life is busy! Now that it’s summer time, it gives me the perfect time to advance my professional development. I found out about an online option that was so easy to use and fits perfectly into my busy summer schedule.
Have you heard of ChildCare Education Institute?
CCEI is the industry leader for online professional development. They have helped hundreds of thousands of child care professionals across the nation and can help you this summer. They are accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), offer IACET approved CEUs, AND they offer a free trial course so you can give it a try without breaking the bank. Also, their courses are self-paced and offer beginner, intermediate and advanced level training courses.
Professional Development from Home
I recently completed ChildCare Education Institute’s online course LIT101:The Read Aloud Process: Building the Components of Literacy and I loved it! I absolutely love learning about all things early literacy and this course did not disappoint. I can’t wait to apply what I learned in this course. The course is about the preparation and skills a teacher needs in order to ensure that read-alouds in the early childhood environment accomplish the literacy-building goals of a good early childhood curriculum. It discusses the process of conducting effective, meaningful read-alouds in order to build foundational literacy skills that children will use for the rest of their lives. Bonus! I was able to take the course from the comfort of my own home and at the pace my children’s busy schedules would allow. This summer is the time to advance your professional development. With CCEI, you can go at your own pace and work around your busy schedule as a mom. I highly recommend you try out CCEI’s courses because they’re the industry leader and you can take it from your couch!
What I learned from LIT101:The Read Aloud Process: Building the Components of Literacy will be beneficial for my future students when I return to the classroom. But right now, I am thrilled to apply what I have learned during read-alouds at home with my own children. We absolutely love story time and this course gave me so many tips to help my children with phonological awareness, language and communication skills, vocabulary, comprehension, and more. I LOVE books, so read-alouds are something that I have loved sharing with my students through the years and now with my own little ones. I am a huge believer in the power of a great story and the impact books can make on children’s lives from an early age. I really loved how this course teaches about the read-aloud process and how to maximize the benefits of read-alouds.
Why CCEI?
I loved the ability to take this course online! When looking for an online provider, you should look for key factors that will make your time worthwhile. So many teachers take online courses and don’t know what their provider offers. For instance, did you know CCEI is available in 49 states in the U.S.? So many teachers spend their time on furthering their career to realize the course they just took isn’t valid in the state they teach. That’s a huge bummer for a teacher who struggles to find any free time.
I also loved that CCEI offers a free trial because you can save a few pennies, how nice is that? Thanks CCEI!
Once you complete your courses, CCEI electronically transmits course completions directly to your state registry. That’s another huge time saver for teachers, not to mention those registration processes and can be rather lengthy.
As a mom of three kids under age 7, finding a babysitter to go to teaching conferences isn’t always easy. I loved that I was able to get valuable professional development at home. The courses are self-paced, so I could take the course during nap time, or in smaller time frames if needed. I loved that I could just log back in and pick up where I left off. It was such a stress-free way to further my education. Since I am taking a little break from the classroom I want to make sure that I stay up-to-date with all of the best teaching practices for when I return to teaching. I am so happy that I found CCEI. There are so many wonderful courses to choose from. If you’re looking for an online childcare training provider, then CCEI is for you!
