I love adding in fun and festive activities for each season. Halloween is so fun for little ones and I cant wait to share this fun math freebie with you! It is super low-prep and has easy instructions for a simple way to add in extra addition practice.
Getting Started
Teachers are busy. That is why I am so excited that the prep time on this activity is short and sweet. Simply print enough recording pages for your students and then print enough witch spinner pages for them to use. If you are using this as a center and only 6 students are working at a time, then you will only need 6 spinners. There are 2 different options for spinners so that you can easily differentiate. One set of spinners has the numbers 1-5, the second set has the numbers 5-9 for larger sums. You will also need paperclips and pencils for this activity.
The Activity
For this activity your students will use a pencil and paper clip to spin each addend in their number sentence. Then they will solve for the sum. Then they spin again to make a new equation. If your students need manipulatives to help them count and visually solve the problems, I love using the Halloween mini-erasers I grabbed at my local Target.
